Oakland Land & Tree LLC is committed to ensuring that oaklandlandandtree.com is accessible to people of all abilities, including people with disabilities. This statement describes the measures we take and the standards we target.

Conformance target

This Site is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard referenced by Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and is the federal expectation for government-facing websites.

Measures we take

  • Semantic HTML structure with landmark regions (header, main, footer, navigation).
  • Skip-to-main-content link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
  • Color contrast meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.1 AA ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
  • Form fields with associated labels and required-field indication.
  • Text alternatives (alt attributes) for informative images.
  • Responsive design that supports 200% zoom and small viewports without loss of content.
  • Respect for the user’s prefers-reduced-motion setting; non-essential motion is removed automatically.
  • The Capability Statement is available as both an accessible HTML page and a printable PDF.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas under active improvement:

  • The downloadable Capability Statement PDF is generated from the same source as the HTML page. PDF structure and tag depth are reviewed but may not yet meet PDF/UA in every respect.
  • The simplified Michigan map on the Service Area page is decorative; the same coverage information is provided in a county list for screen-reader users.
